Voice Announcements
Turn a line of text into a professional AI voice announcement that plays automatically between your music tracks — no recording equipment needed.
Create an announcement
Tap Ads in the bottom menu, then tap the + button in the top right. This opens the Create Announcement screen.
Give your announcement a Campaign Title — this is just for your reference (e.g. "Daily Specials" or "Welcome Message"). Then write your script in the Script field. A character counter below the field shows how much of the 500-character limit you've used — 500 characters is around 30 seconds of audio. Keep sentences short and natural — the AI voices read them aloud exactly as written.
Under Playback Frequency, choose how many music tracks should play between each announcement. For example, setting it to 4 means your announcement plays after every 4 songs. Options are 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 10, or 15 — or you can turn it off entirely. A setting of 4–5 is a good starting point for most venues.
Scroll through the Voice Model options. Each voice card has a small play button — tap it to hear a short sample of that voice before committing. There are over 20 voices available across different ages, accents, and tones. Once you've picked a voice, tap Generate Audio Preview to hear your full script read aloud. Any currently playing music will pause automatically during the preview. If you'd like a voice that isn't available, get in touch and we can look at adding it.
Once you're happy with the preview, save the announcement. It will immediately be active and start playing between your music tracks — across Radio, Genres, Playlists, and even downloaded tracks when you're offline.
Example scripts
Not sure what to say? Here are a few examples to get you started. Adapt them to suit your venue and your brand's tone of voice.
Welcome, and thanks for coming in today. We hope you enjoy your visit. Don't forget to ask our team about today's specials.
Today's special is our grilled salmon with lemon butter sauce, served with seasonal vegetables. Ask your server for details — available while stocks last.
Did you know we offer a loyalty card? Ask at the counter to get yours today — every fifth visit earns you a free coffee. We appreciate your support.
Just a reminder that we'll be closing in thirty minutes. Please make your way to the counter if you'd like to place a final order. Thanks for visiting — we hope to see you again soon.
Running multiple announcements
You can have more than one announcement active at the same time — for example, a welcome message and a daily specials announcement running together. There are a couple of things worth knowing before you set this up.
The app schedules announcements based on when you created them — oldest first. Each announcement is inserted into the music queue based on its frequency setting, then the next announcement is scheduled on top of that. With two or more announcements running, they can end up playing close together or back-to-back in places, depending on your frequency settings.
If you have shuffle enabled on a playlist, the announcements will be shuffled along with the tracks. You won't be able to predict exactly when each announcement plays. If you need announcements at consistent intervals, it's best to use shuffle-off playlists or Radio and Genres, where the order is fixed.
Keep it simple to start. If you're new to announcements, we recommend setting up one at a time first. Get comfortable with how it sounds in your venue before adding a second one. Too many announcements too close together can interrupt the music experience for your customers.
Editing and managing announcements
You can edit an existing announcement's title and frequency at any time. However, the script text and voice cannot be changed on a saved announcement — if you need to update what it says or how it sounds, delete it and create a new one with your changes.
If you're not happy with how an announcement sounds, delete it and create a new one. Tap the announcement in the Ads tab, then select delete. You can then start fresh with a tweaked script or a different voice.
You can temporarily disable an announcement by setting its Playback Frequency to Off, without deleting it. This is useful for seasonal announcements you want to keep but not play all year round.
Tapping skip during an announcement advances directly to the next music track — not the next announcement. The skipped announcement will play again at its next scheduled interval.
Control exactly when announcements play
The frequency setting spaces announcements evenly through your music, but if you need an announcement to play at a specific moment — for example, a welcome message as the first thing customers hear, or a closing time reminder near the end of a set — you can do that with a playlist.
Set up your music tracks in a playlist the way you normally would. This gives you a fixed track order to work with — make sure Shuffle is off if you want announcements to play at predictable points.
Tap Genres and scroll to the Announcements category. All your saved voice announcements appear here as regular tracks. Tap the + button next to an announcement to add it to your playlist — you can add the same announcement multiple times if you want it to appear at several points.
Tap the reorder icon in the playlist header to enter reorder mode, then drag your announcements to exactly where you want them in the track list. Tap Save when you're done.
When announcements are placed manually inside a playlist like this, the frequency setting on the announcement itself is ignored — the playlist position takes over. Set the announcement's frequency to Off if you want to use it exclusively via playlists.
Tips for writing great scripts
- Write the way you speak — short sentences and natural pauses work best with AI voices.
- Avoid punctuation like dashes or brackets in the middle of sentences, as they can affect how the voice reads the text.
- Spell out numbers and abbreviations — "four dollars fifty" reads better than "$4.50" with most voices.
- Preview with a few different voices before committing — the right voice can make a big difference to how your brand comes across.
- Keep announcements relevant and timely. Customers tune out generic messages quickly — specific ones (today's special, an upcoming event) get more attention.
- A frequency of 4–5 tracks works well for most venues. Lower than that can feel intrusive; higher means customers may rarely hear it.
