Advanced Tips & Best Practices
Smart Playlist Organization
By Time of Day:
- "Morning Opening" (7am-11am)
- "Lunch Rush" (11am-2pm)
- "Afternoon Flow" (2pm-5pm)
- "Evening Wind Down" (5pm-close)
By Mood/Energy:
- "High Energy" (busy periods)
- "Relaxed Ambiance" (quiet hours)
- "Weekend Vibes"
- "Rainy Day Music"
By Genre:
- "Jazz Essentials"
- "Acoustic Focus"

Duration Planning
- Most cafes/retail need 3-4 hours of music minimum per playlist
- Aim for 40-60 songs per playlist
- This prevents too much repetition during a shift
- Create multiple playlists and rotate them throughout the week
Building a Balanced Playlist
- Start with variety - Mix different artists and styles within your genre
- Watch the energy flow - Don't put all high-energy songs together
- Avoid jarring transitions - Similar tempos work well side-by-side
- Test it out - Play through your playlist before using it during business hours
- Get feedback - Ask your team what they think
✓ Do:
- Name playlists clearly
- Review regularly (every few weeks)
- Note customer feedback
- Test volume levels
- Keep backups of favorites
✗ Don't:
- Make playlists too short (<30 songs)
- Mix drastically different genres
- Forget about flow and transitions
- Set and forget - keep it fresh
